RESEARCH TECHNICIAN
The Owens laboratory is looking to hire a short-term research technician to assist with remote field work on the ecological costs and evolutionary consequences of moth flight-to-light behavior. Field work will take place in Lakeville, ME, from July through September 2024 with rustic local accommodation provided. Candidates will be expected to help conduct a large-scale behavioral experiment with duties including the transport and construction of experimental flight chambers and recording of moth behavioral data. Candidates will also be asked to share in laboratory management duties including the supervision of undergraduate students in insect rearing and data collection. Candidates must be comfortable handling insects, moving heavy objects, living in remote areas, and conducting field work at night.
